Nokia - Nokia 7610 - Phone Models - Phones

Man is this phone hot or what, I love the red color one. There is everything you would desire in a Y2K+5 Gadget, it's a Mobile Phone (a good one at that), a MP Digicam, a PIM, a Modem, a Browser, a Gameboy almosta helluva reduced PC. Go get it if you have the cash, it sure will win you a lot...that's for sure.

Ideas' for a Tsunami Warning System

What a tragedy, it's a real bad end to a wonderful year, 1.5 Lac people annhilated, and about 100 times those devastated. Who could have predicted this would befall a group of nations, just about able to stand of their feet in the global marketplace. A group of scientists recommended the installation of Tsunami Warning System...which might have give us fore-signals' of an impending Tsunami, well they say it's pretty expensive, but here are my few cents on how exsting technology "may" be put to use.

Well we have those INSAT's in orbit for like over 10 years now, I know that besides those boring weather photographs' they must be deeply involved in voyerism in Pakistan, especially their prez's love life...anyway, with the kind of resolution that they have, would it not be possible for them to screen for marine life directional patterns e.g. shoals can be tracked for particular behaviour etc, and in case of earthquakes, am pretty sure there would have a wide-scale evacuation undertaken by the marine life which could have been noticed by our INSAT's I mean isnt that what's it's there for predicting weather and all? So I do have enough self-belief that pattern analysis of the marine surface can reveal much more to our scientists' than they believe it does.

Mobile buying decision

Life can be a little tricky, I bought a Cell when I least wanted it, and from the least wanted provider...now I'm stuck. It's a Reliance IndiaMobile, papa ka sapna piece, huge respect for DA but not MDA...god he's screwing the entire Mobile user experience what with the "R-World" and all it's a shitty piece of software platform for tiny and vague application. Especially so if you are like using the LG 2030 phone...it's downright pathetic.

Ok so now to the happy part, well...I do have some money to spare and have almost fallen in love with Nokia 7610 and also te Sony Ericsson range, the higher end. I would really love to go for 7610, but it's about 4-5 K above my budget, i.e. in Indian Rupees...anyway...the real reason for this would have to be the big LCD screen, which should suffice basic browsing. I also plan to start using GPRS and cut down on PSTN. Lastly the idea of some wonderful games is awesome. Java3D games are supported.

If you own a mobile, do drop in those pearls as to why you chose it over other...
